Avestan script
using the Avestan Nouveau font

This is one of a group of fonts developed in response to finding so very few nice representations of ancient scripts on the web. Indeed, this is a development of my first font for Avestan, shown on the main Avestan page.

UPDATE August 2020 I have built a new version of Avestan Nouveau which now runs RTL (right-to-left). You just need to activate a   فا   Farsi keyboard input.

I have also included my older version of Avestan encoded into the Unicode block U+10B00, in the same font, so you can now read text stored in the prescribed format. Later this year I hope to build an RTL version of my older font, plus do a Unicode set for Avestan Nouveau.

There seem to be many problems in creating a natural workflow for typing, viewing and storing Avestan. Even though the script was accepted into Unicode in 2009, nice fonts and simple input are still lacking. In any case, I shall probably build and include a small Java program to convert text typed with the chosen input method, into pure/standard Avestan.
